Recently, we were invited to host an exclusive honey tasting session for an international family of distinguished guests at the Four Seasons Astir Palace Hotel in Vouliagmeni, Athens. The experience took place in their private suite and was carefully curated to ensure both privacy and authenticity.
As Greece’s Certified Honey Sommelier, I guided them through a multi-sensory tasting journey featuring five exceptional Greek honeys:

an exclusive private honey tasting experience in Athens hotel
-
Orange blossom honey from Nafplio – light, floral, with citrus notes
-
Thyme honey from Crete – intense and aromatic, a Greek classic
-
Heather honey from Halkidiki – dark, earthy, with complex bitterness
-
Oak honey from Thessaly – rich and full-bodied, high in antioxidants
-
Vanilla Fir honey from Vytina (PDO) – rare and silky, with a creamy finish
Each honey was paired with select ingredients: aged cheese, tahini, fresh fruit, and rustic bread, allowing the family to explore how flavors evolve and complement one another.

This experience was not just about tasting—it was about storytelling, tradition, and discovery through flavor. A unique way to connect with the land, the flora, and the craftsmanship of Greek beekeepers.

If you’re a travel designer, DMC, or luxury hospitality provider looking to offer your guests authentic, high-end food experiences, we’d be delighted to collaborate.
