For the second consecutive year, Spyros Skareas, Certified Honey Sommelier and international honey judge, participated as a judge at the Paris Honey Awards, one of the most important global honey competitions, held annually in Paris.
The competition took place over two full days, during which hundreds of honey samples were blind-tasted and evaluated. This year’s participation was significantly increased, with samples mainly originating from Europe, the United States, and the Middle East, further elevating the level of competition and confirming the international standing of the event.

The judging panel of the Paris Honey Awards is composed exclusively of highly specialized honey tasters, all trained in sensory analysis and experienced in evaluating honey quality, varietal characteristics, and overall sensory balance. The assessment process follows strict international standards, ensuring objectivity, transparency, and consistency throughout the competition.
Once again, Greece was represented by Spyros Skareas, Certified Honey Sommelier who served as the sole Greek judge at the competition, reinforcing the country’s presence in a prestigious international institution and contributing to the global recognition of Greek honey.

Of particular importance is the fact that Greek honeys were awarded Platinum and Gold medals, a clear indication of their exceptional quality, distinctive sensory profile, and remarkable varietal diversity. These distinctions reflect the continuous efforts, expertise, and dedication of Greek beekeepers.
Warm congratulations are extended to all Greek beekeepers whose commitment to excellence continues to elevate Greek honey on the global stage as a premium product of outstanding quality and taste.
